If you have downloaded a program onto your computer but never paid attention to where on your computer you have saved that program, you may have a hard time checking if this program has really been downloaded or launching the program to use, particularly if no shortcut has been placed on your desktop.

We will show you three quick ways to check if a program has been installed onto your computer. We will assume you are using Microsoft’s Window 10 version 1903, but the information here may be relevant to other versions of Windows.

Look up on the Windows Search Bar

Using the Windows search bar is probably the quickest way to look up a program. All you need to do is to click the Windows start button or simply write the name of the program in the search bar on your taskbar. Then the program will pop up.

Open the C Drive

To open the C drive of your computer, you can click on the Start button on your taskbar and type “This PC” in the search bar:

Upon clicking the “This PC”, you will be directed to a window where you will find all your drives.

You need to double-click “Windows (C:)”, which is your C drive. The next window will be the folders in the C drive. If you are lucky, there might already be a folder for the program you are looking for.
